PUBLIC NOTICE The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) is considering a request for Federal assistance from the City of Escalon to construct a Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade Phase I Project in Escalon, San Joaquin County, California. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), EDA is conducting an assessment of the potential of the proposed project to affect the environment and/or historic properties. The project consists of four (4) primary components: evaluation of alternatives for improved stormwater handling, rehabilitation of the industrial/storm treatment ponds, replacement of electrical cabinets serving industrial treatment equipment, and upstream pH monitoring and chemical addition facilities. The project will be located west of McHenry Avenue and south of East River Road (APNs: 247-09-015, -36, -38). Project information is available for review at the City of Escalon City Hall (2060 McHenry Avenue, Escalon, CA 95320).
