NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ESCALON PLANNING COMMISSION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Escalon Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 2060 McHenry Ave, Escalon, California, on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 6:30 PM to receive and consider evidence and reports relative to the following matters: GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 2026-01: 6TH CYCLE 2023-2031 HOUSING ELEMENT UPDATE To consider a Resolution recommending to the City Council of the City of Escalon to approve a General Plan Amendment to amend the General Plan to replace the adopted Housing Element with the 6th Cycle Housing Element, amend the General Plan Land Use Element and to authorize Staff to submit the 6th Cycle Housing Element to the California Department of Housing and Community Development for Certification. The City's Final 6th Cycle Housing Element has been prepared in accordance with Government Code Section 65580 et. al., which specifies the content of the Housing Element. The City's Final 6th Cycle Housing Element consists of an analysis and evaluation of existing housing needs, resource site inventory, constraints on housing, an analysis of fair housing (Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing), an evaluation of the City's current Housing Element Policies and Programs and updated/new Policies and Programs for the 6th Cycle Planning Period. Environmental Review: The City of Escalon as the lead agency has reviewed the proposed project in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The City has determined that the proposed project is exempt from environmental review in accordance with CEQA Guidelines section 15061(b)(3) (Commonsense Exemption). AT THE ABOVE HEARING, INTERESTED INDIVIDUALS will be given an opportunity to express opinions or speak in favor or opposition to the above proposal. Written comments filed prior to the meeting will be accepted by the Development Services Department. Information regarding the hearing is on file with the City and may be viewed by interested individuals at the office of the Development Services Department. The agenda packet for the above proposal will be made available in advance of the meeting and can be found online at the following website - https://www.cityofescalon.org/government/agenda_packets/planning_commission If you wish to challenge the nature of the above actions in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to the City of Escalon, at or prior to the public hearing. (Government Code, SS 65009.) Notice is further given that the time within which judicial review must be sought may be subject to the short time limitations contained in California Code of Civil Procedure section 1084 et seq., including but not limited to, Code of Civil Procedure section 1094.6. All interested parties are invited to attend said hearing and express opinions or submit evidence for or against the proposal as outlined above.
